New website and Fine Art Prints

Once I came back from my holidays in August I was literally bombed with commercial assignments which for some reason I was avoiding before. This time I decided to face new venture and I must say - I really enjoy it :)
In this situation there is not much space left for pure creativity unfortunately.
My temporary abandoned projects however will eventually back to live sooner or later and I will be also more active online.
...So here I am after about 3 months of absence on this blog ;)

As many of you already know I managed to launch the new website about 3 weeks ago.
This one covers more information, it's faster and mobile friendly.
I would like to point here quite important feature - incorporated ecommerce.
I moved all my fine art prints sales into one place - my website (click HERE please).

At the same time I would like to introduce new series of fine art limited edition prints which many people asked about.
From now on I am selling copies of photographs I am making walking around Dublin with my Large Format camera loaded with Direct Positive Paper, material which is not produced anymore.
Limited edition prints keeps the same size as originals ...4x5inch.
Each of them will be printed by myself and framed by professional framer.
Frame size will be apx 14x15 inch.

Each limited edition photograph (15 pieces) will be printed on a beautiful Canson Infinity Rag Photographique museum quality matte paper, pencil signed on print recto and signed, stamped with date, print date and edition number in ink on print verso.

Prints...

In this article I would like to draw a little bit of your attention to my Etsy shop. Most of you already know it but for all of those who are new here - Artur Sikora Photography Etsy Shop offers some of my photographs as a limited edition prints.

All presented there photographs are printed on beautiful Canson Infinity Rag Photographique (310) matte paper. It is a 100% cotton museum grade white Fine Art paper. It also does not contain any Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs).
Quality of every single print on such a paper along with Epson Ultrachrome K3 Vivid Magenta inks technology is absolutely amazing and everlasting.

Each photograph is signed and numbered at the front and back and comes with certificate of authenticity.
Photographs are printed with 1 inch margin around which leaves just right amount of space for mounting and framing...and it's obviously looks good.
Some of my prints already found their new homes in Switzerland, Japan, US, Poland and of course Ireland. I believe there is much more places perfectly suitable for them ;)
Postage at the moment is free worldwide.
Please have a look at my online shop: PRINTS

Also feel free to contact me if you have any question related to it.

Thank you!

...about memory

This is a short post about one of many roles photography has to fulfill. I just thought it is good to point it even if it’s so obvious for many of us.
Yesterday I finished scanning a bunch of an old negatives for a friend of mine. All of them from early 70’s. All taken by her father. It tooks time but what a pleasure it was. Looking at the each scanned image is exactly like traveling in time. I believe lots of those photographs were never seen before. It is something very unique. Rediscovering moments. Live them again...

scan from about 40 years old negative

After that I did a little research in my old archives. Found a portrait of my grandfather. This photograph was taken maybe 50 years ago or even earlier. Author remains unknown. I realized how important it is for me. It shows my grandfather exactly in the way I remember him. Man full of positive energy.
I never took a picture of him myself. Don't know why. Maybe obviously because i wasn’t photographing people back then...

All of it reminds me of a two blog posts I read some time ago. They draw my attention in a very special way. Both of them /very personal stories/ were about passage of time.
Both of them raised the question of sense of photography...
Why we are taking photographs?
Whatever we say it usually going to one conclusion  - to memorize...
...and memorize not only people. It concerns everything around us.
Sounds obvious? Yes, definitely. But somehow... I never thought about it in that way.

Photographer holds the role of time machine operator. Each can do it in a very unique and personal way.
